Mad Campers were back in the wet weather at the end of July but ay! its better than paying extortionate Taxi rates, if you do want to camp make sure you phone and book in. CAMPER VANS AND CARAVANS IT IS ESSENTIAL TO BOOK
The July Rock night was absolutely brill one of the best this year packed to the rafters and not one complaint, well just a couple about how hot it was, we will address the heat as soon as our electric supplier gives us an upgrade, and it seems to be taking forever.
Enjoy the August Rock Night with from 10pm live in the bar THE CRAVING then onto the club with a ear bashing of great Rock music from resident DJ Roy.
The last few weeks I have been doing membership for the club between 11.30 and 12.30 in the entrance to the club, some have filled in the forms but not had the photo done so I cant process the cards, so if you haven't received your cards you could be one who has filled in a form but not had a picture so you will have to do another come see me next month on the door 11.30 -
Although Membership is not essential in the next three months we will ask you on the door if you would like to join the Rock club, I am trying to get everyone to join who is over 21, over 18 to 21 will be let in at the door staffs discretion, we are trying to keep out the non rockers for your enjoyment
If you are a member of our Rock Club and its your Birthday in August you should get up to TEN free entries for the 27th August through the post as long as we have your correct details. if you don't get yours send me an e mail with your name and membership number so I can check it out, but these cant be backdated

We now put a stamp on everyone who goes in to the club the stamp means you can move between the bar and club this helps you to get served quicker and watch the band. so don't forget the PUB bar is open until 1.30 so no need for the ques at the club bar whicjh is open until 2.30
Unfortunately we cant allow drinks to be taken out of the club any more.

BOOKING YOUR SEAT, Only FOUR seats can be booked by each person this is due to persons booking 10 - 12 or so seats then canceling last minute which leaves me in a dilemma as i ALREADY TOLD PEOPLE THE BUS IS FULL
CAMPING is FREE and If you are wanting to camp (Brr Cold) or bring your motor home/caravan please book up in advance especially for electric hook up.
And the rules NO Camp fires or bar b ques, NO noise, NO revving vehicles, and take your rubbish home, sorry to be a party pooper but I have to face up to the neighbours after
PARKING...... Please park in between the white lines not over them 100 spaces marked out with room for about 40 more
ANYONE BRINGING LARGE VEHICLES (camper vans etc.) PLEASE ASK WHERE TO PARK BEFORE YOU PARK.
OVERNIGHT STAY WELCOME ON THE CAR PARK BUT AS ABOVE LARGE VEHICLES MUST BE PARKED OFF THE MAIN CAR PARK TO LEAVE ROOM FOR CARS.

ROY'S MUSIC POLICY
ALTHOUGH many people are of a certain age and appreciate older tunes, which predominantly is what’s played, it’s also worth mentioning that a younger clientele also support The Winking Man, and their tastes might be slightly different to yours.
Should a few songs from a more contemporary nature not be to your liking, please use the time productively; visit the bar, talk to friends or just try and listen to the music, you may grow to like it.
With many hundreds supporting the monthly rock night we’ll never all agree on the music played. It really is subjective!!
Throughout the evening the music does drift into various genres, so please, do not get all aggressive with the D.J or any other member of staff if a couple of songs are not on your wish list, as this resentment isn’t nice, fair or respectful.
We’re all working extremely hard to make your visit to Britain’s highest altitude Club an experience to savour.
We really do value your custom.

MY MUSIC POLICY
Predominently it is a Classic Rock night but we cant be stuck in the 80s or 90s and to encourage a new fan base the newer Rock will be played with most genres covered.
Send me your requests for the DJ and views on the music policy and what you want to our e mail address; after all it’s your night.
Now this next bit never changes it just tells you what it’s about.
We do call our night a Classic Rock Night which means Classic Rock Music from the 70s to present, because the good tracks being played now could certainly be Classic tracks in a few years time as were the great bands of the 80s and 90s, and you cant live in the past.... we have to move on so please do expect a few GOOD recent rock tracks.
If you do have any comments to improve the night tell me, I do listen.

We now offer Secure Bike Parking (weather permitting for you to use your bike) and it's covered by our digital CCT system

30th May 2003 the end of an Era, The Highwayman Rock Venue Closed it's doors for the Last time after 28 years as the premier Rock venue in Staffordshire, But don't despair……….
We now have a great head banging experience with DJ Roy Goodhall we continue the tradition with our Classic Rock night
